Leanna Marie Sac is a law clerk at Mallison & Martinez awaiting her July Bar results. Leanna received her Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic Languages and Bilingual Issues at U.C. Berkeley, and her Juris Doctor from U.C. Hastings College of the Law. Leanna worked for several years at East Bay Sanctuary Covenant (EBSC), a nonprofit organization representing low-income immigrants and refugees in asylum cases and other immigration matters, and she had government accreditation to represent EBSC clients in cases before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. During law school, she was an editor for the Hastings Race and Poverty Law Journal, and she participated in the Refugee and Human Rights Clinic. Leanna has significant experience working with indigenous Guatemalan clients, and speaks Spanish and Mam Maya. In her spare time, Leanna spends time with her daughter and plays dominoes.
Juan Gamboa is a law clerk at Mallison & Martinez awaiting his July Bar results. Mr. Gamboa’s practice is focused on employment litigation, including wage and hour class actions, as well as discrimination matters. Mr. Gamboa received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from San Francisco State University and earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Davis, School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Gamboa founded “La Raza Unidos,” an ambitious program that seeks to help undergraduate students of color navigate the law school application process. During law school, Mr. Gamboa was a summer associate at Mallison & Martinez, where he assisted attorneys in various wage and hour matters. Mr. Gamboa also worked in the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing Civil Rights Clinic, where he was responsible for investigating and resolving discrimination claims. In his spare time, Mr. Gamboa practices judo, plays bass, and hikes.
